Warts

Body Aesthetics

Warts are small, benign growths on the skin caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). There are several different types of warts, including common warts, plantar warts, flat warts, and genital warts. Warts can occur anywhere on the body, but they are most commonly found on the hands, feet, and face.

Common warts are raised and have a rough, grainy surface. They are usually skin-colored and can appear anywhere on the body. Plantar warts occur on the soles of the feet and can cause pain when walking. Flat warts are small, smooth, and flat-topped and can appear in large numbers. They are most commonly found on the face, arms, and legs. Genital warts are a sexually transmitted infection and occur on the genitals and around the anus.

There are several treatment options for warts, including over-the-counter topical medications, prescription topical medications, cryotherapy (freezing the wart with liquid nitrogen), and laser surgery. Your healthcare provider will determine the best treatment option for you based on the type and location of your warts. It is important to follow your healthcare provider's instructions for care after treatment to help ensure the best possible outcome.
